Coveros is seeking DevOps Engineers to join our team and help provide our clients with modern DevOps pipelines.

The DevOps Engineers are responsible for the design and implementation of an application’s build, release, and deployment infrastructure as well as the automated management of the application configuration.  They are expected to have an understanding of modern Software Development Lifecycle techniques, like Agile, and familiarity with automation tooling for developing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. DevOps Engineers are an integral part of agile development teams and use agile methodologies to deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in cloud environments. They help application and pipeline development through the integration of development best practices. The DevOps Engineer is expected to be a self-organized, individual contributor on the team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, code, and test multiple components of application code across one or more clients.
  • Perform maintenance, enhancements, and development work.
  • Work as part of a team of consultants to coach, train, and implement DevOps practices and culture across varied clients
  • Work with software developers to troubleshoot issues in the configuration of operating systems
  • Automate the build, test, and deployment infrastructure to support Agile software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Implement test automation tools, build automated infrastructure, and create CI infrastructure
  • Develop high-quality automated tests to support DevOps practices
  • Collaborate with business teams, developers, and testers to define and implement automated DevOps processes
  • Guide and mentor junior team members in delivering high-quality work in support of DevOps efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with compiling and deploying applications via automation.
  • Applicants should have 1-2 years’ hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Github actions, Gitlab CI, Circle CI, or related technologies
  • 5+ years developing applications with .NET, Java, JavaScript, or similar platforms.
  • Individuals will be helping to integrate existing applications into the pipeline by developing Jenkins build jobs to handle multi-environment deployments.
  • 3+ years of experience in Windows, Linux, and UNIX use and/or administration
  • 2+ years of prior experience with configuration management and deployment tools (Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, Helm)
  • 1+ years of experience in development, deployment, and troubleshooting with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with security testing practices and tools
  • Demonstrated professional experience with Agile methodologies and software development
  • Ability to support internal and external customers on multiple platforms
  • Proven ability to write clear and concise documentation
  • Familiarity with common vulnerabilities, penetration testing techniques, application vulnerability analysis

Additional Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with leading small technical teams in an operational setting, including assigning or overseeing small tasks and providing technical support
  • Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • 1+ years of experience in powershell scripting and Active Directory
  • Experience with Relational databases such as Microsoft SQL and MySQL

The presence of an experienced Agile Software Development Technical SME is a critical success factor for teams and organizations transitioning to an agile methodology. Our Agile Software Development Technical SMEs work with customers to determine their needs and devise strategies for implementing and improving agile software development practices to improve the speed and quality of development. Agile Software Development Technical SMEs focus on technical practices at the organization, team, and individual contributor levels. These include agile software development practices such as rapid design, secure coding, static testing, test-driven development (TDD), peer and code reviews, unit, integration, and API testing, and DevSecOps. Agile Software Development Technical SMEs will work to roll out larger technical solutions as well as coach senior leadership in how to use agile principles to ensure that development staff is performing at an appropriate level. Our Technical SMEs also can mentor individual team members in day-to-day agile technical practices and help multiple development teams collaborate effectively. All of our Agile Technical SMEs have a deep understanding of the Agile Manifesto and understand how technical excellence supports the implementation of the Agile Principles regardless of the agile processes being put in place. 

Responsibilities

  • Apply software development experience to help organizations to define software development standards that make sense from the eyes of a developer
  • Assist in defining metrics and measurements that can be applied to ensure that development teams are delivering appropriate value and are producing quality code that is maintainable, extensible, and secure.
  • Facilitate the definition of goals and success factors by Agile teams. Help agile teams implement appropriate technical agile practices to achieve those goals
  • Work with Agile teams to identify and define sets of measurements to understand baselines and quantify the progress the team has achieved from implementing technical agile practices
  • Offer practical advice on technical solutions that can improve team agility
  • Conduct workshops to drive home agile principles and help teams to understand the reasoning behind agile practices

 Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of active software development experience with a Masters degree or 9 years of active software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • A deep understanding, and passion for the Agile Manifesto and its associated principles
  • Demonstrated competency, backed by successful professional experience, in software engineering and/or DevSecOps.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of, and ability to discuss the detailed implementation of agile technical practices to include Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), test automation, and DevSecOps

The Senior Test Automation Engineer is a critical member of the agile development team and primarily provides test automation development support within an integrated DevOps CI infrastructure. We require the Senior Test Automation Engineer to implement or develop test automation frameworks, test validation scripts, test data strategies, and develop continuous integration scripts for automated validation. The Senior Test Automation Engineer work is critical in driving the testing efficiencies necessary for successful Agile product development and the attainment of client growth and expansion objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business teams, developers, and testers to define and implement quality assurance processes
  • Test execution, defect identification, and quality reporting in a regulated environment

Our Agile Coaches work with customers to determine their needs and devise strategies around the implementation of agile practices to achieve their goals. We do not require that a coach promote or dictate a particular agile methodology. Rather, we require our coaches to have a deep understanding of the Agile Manifesto, and associated Agile Principles, and work hand-in-hand with agile teams to ensure that they understand and embody these principles in every aspect of their work. A Coveros Agile Coach helps teams to implement the proper framework, or pull appropriate concepts from multiple frameworks, to ensure successful outcomes for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Work day-to-day with agile teams, scrum masters, product owners, project management, managers, directors, and executives offering advice and making recommendations on how to effectively improve agile practices
  • Evangelize Agile practices. Coach and train client employees on effective coaching and evangelizing practices
  • Facilitate the definition of goals and success factors by Agile teams. Help agile teams implement appropriate agile practices to achieve those goals
  • Work with Agile teams to identify and define sets of measurements to understand baselines and quantify the progress the team has achieved from implementing agile practices

  • Deliver in-person general and role-based training to individuals and team members as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience working in an agile environment. At least 3 of these years should be in a coaching, Scrum Master, or agile leadership role
  • A deep understanding of, and passion for, the Agile Manifesto and its associated principles
  • One or more agile certifications from an accredited certification body. This would include but is not limited to ICAgile, Scrum.org, Scrum Alliance, SAFe, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • BS or MS degree or demonstrated professional experience
