This past week I had the privilege of being a panelist in a webinar about “The Journey to Continuous Delivery”.

Continuous Discussions (#c9d9): Episode 10 Recap – Continuous Delivery

I joined several other panelists as we discussed several questions:

  • How Agile are you?
  • Do you have a CD champion?
  • What does your tool chain look like?
  • What’s next?

I took away a lot from the discussions. Joshua Kerievsky, founder of Industry Logic, mentioned that he doesn’t use the term Agile anymore, but prefers “safe software development,” which seems like a good way to describe the mindset. Rick Porter from Revelation Software Concepts talked about delivering SAP solutions to big, conservative enterprises while using Continuous Delivery. Anders Wallgren, CTO of Electric Cloud, pointed out that a common theme throughout many Agile, Lean, and other modern processes is completeness and always moving forward. And perhaps most interesting Ivan Kusalic from HERE described a great solution regarding how they use production replay logs to do some real-world testing.

Let me know what you think of the webinar in the comments.

Thanks to Sam Fell and Avigail Ofer from Electric Cloud for inviting me to join the panel, and for hosting a very informative webinar. It was a lot of fun.
